JT Posh started with two sisters, a lifelong love of fashion, and a dream. In 2006, Tracy Auten—who studied Fashion Merchandising at ECU—went to her sister Jen with an idea: What if we opened an upscale women’s consignment store that felt like a true retail boutique? Tracy had the vision. Jen built the business plan. Together, they secured the funding, found the perfect spot in Dilworth, learned the ins-and- outs of the consignment business, and researched names. They landed on “JT” for Jen and Tracy, and “Posh” thanks to a cousin with a good idea.
